Believe or not, drones have been around as early as 1900s.  They started as training targets for military purposes to cause minimal damage.  Since then, the military heavily invested on drones for military applications that seem to be another replica of the nuclear race. Along side with the most advanced technology era of all time, the commercial world took the opportunity for granted and popularize the drone demand.  Drones manufacturing are easy and cheap as ever, turning the game-changing revolution into commercial and domestic technology.

Commercial drones were first introduced as business and factory services, like the renowned Amazon Prime Air delivering packages straight to your door in record time.  Afterwards, many industries dived into relying drone like security and rescue operations.  Then of course the commercial opened a whole new marketplace for domestic drones and is now our new favourite toy.

1. Your Personal Photographer – DJI Phantom 4, China

3. 2017 Flying Car – Kitty Hawk, United States

Size up the toy and literally sit on it. The DeLorean from Back to the Future will not be fictional any longer.  Co-founder of Google, Larry Page, financially backed the small company to engineer this full-electric flying car.  It is currently under production and expected to start selling end of the year 2017.  As many companies are expected to create flying vehicles in the short coming, Kitty Hawk is recruiting audiences by giving a 3-year membership to enjoy exclusive events access and a US$2000 discount off the retail price.

However, this flyer won’t save you time in traffic as it can only fly in “uncongested areas” over fresh water.  The good side is that owner don’t need a pilot license to operate the flyer and is very easy to learn in minutes. The company recently released a prototype in action and the design is yet to finalize.

4. Skydiving = Drone Jump! – Aerones, Latvia

Two weeks ago, Ingus Augstkalns skydived 1,100 feet above Latvia ground from a drone. The video got viral on all social medias and made history to be the first human being skydiving from a drone. The Latvian drone manufacturer, Aerones, built the drone with 28 propellers and is remote-controlled by Augstkalns himself. Aerones claimed that the drone can handle weigh up to 440 pounds and is purposely to operate for rescue operations like pulling people from flood on rooftop. This drone surely serves a great purpose to use for saving lives, and at the same time for adventurous journeys.

5. Drive Like A Car – EHANG 184, China

Cars have been around us for more than 4 centuries and are inevitable to our lifestyle. No doubt the revolution of drones is excelling more than exponentially and possibly become our primary commune. Here, we talk about the EHANG 184 and the safety design precaution is crazy.  It is powered by electricity only with composite materials, making the design 100% green technology.  The vehicle is suitable for medium-short distance transport and designed a whole set of back up system. The EHANG 184 implanted a fail safe system, where if any components fail to perform or disconnected will immediately land on the nearest possible safe area.  Also, the EHANG 184 is a driverless vehicle, ready to launch in Dubai this summer.
