Thésée is the title character from an early French opera composed by Jean-Baptiste Lully and Phillipe Quinault based on Ovid's Metamorphoses which was first performed at the Paris Opera in 1675. Thésée is part of a romantic triangle involving the princess Egle whom he loves, and the sorceress Medea, who wishes to marry the young warrior.
