Rory J Browne graduated from Chelsea School of Art in 1988 and initially worked as a freelance artist mainly within the corporate sector. He specialises
in painting vibrant and richly textured landscapes which often have a spiritual as well as a representational theme running through them.

Rory has contributed to the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition on a number of occasions. His work is featured in public and private collections both in the UK and abroad, including British Gas, Rank Xerox, London Borough of Barnet and Hertfordshire County Council.

Rory has won a number of prestigious awards and been featured in numerous articles, including Country Living magazine (July 2007). A graduate of the Chelsea School of Art, Rory now lives in Harpenden, Hertfordshire with his wife and three sons.

Artist Statement:

Through my paintings I seek primarily to reflect the vibrancy and beauty of the created world around us. But they also often allude to a spiritual theme as well as a representational one. This reflects my belief that our inherent creativity is itself a reflection of a creator God, whose work we see in landscape but who is also deeply concerned for human needs and the individual.

It is my intention within each work to capture a sense of time and place. I would hope to present the viewer with a distilled image that would elicit a response of: “I’ve been there …” If my work achieves this sort of response, then it has done the job that I set out to do. My hope is also that as you browse through the site, you will not see just pictures and images, but find peace and meaning in the midst of your busy and demanding life.
