Negros y rojos, y azules... is developped from an on going project: Ediciones del Exotismo Ordianrio Internacional Neotropical, which gathers all sort of documents about Latin America: botanical / political / economical / revolutionary / literary / geographical and fuses them into a wide fiction. Since 2011, the Ediciones... studies the green plants endemic to the Neotropics, the geopolitical/geopoetical context of their original habitat, their organizational potential and selfgovernance. Negros y rojos y azules... are the colors defining men in the protest song “Playa Girón” by Silvio Rodríguez. They correspond to those of an ordinary carbon paper. The foliage of a Calathea group is transferred on these monochromes of skin color, ideology and feeling. Plants teach men, which in turn teach plants how to agitate and spread ideas. Mariátegui – founder of the Peruvian Socialist Party – withstands in the meanders of a used bookstore. Oil palms lead an epic battle on the fields of the Ecuadorian coast. Ideologies don’t die, they wait for the right time under the Calathea leaves in Chiapas.
