**The artist: Cintia Barroso Alexander**

Brazilian photographer Cintia Barroso Alexander has lived and worked in Wuppertal, Germany, since 2004. She assists major photographers there while also pursuing her own career as a professional photographer. Born in Rio de Janeiro, where she conducted marketing studies, she later worked as a model and TV presenter in Brazil then in Germany. This was where she created her CBA image studio, combining fashion photography and portraiture. Her great mastery of the tools of representation and communication allowed her to adapt her creations to extremely varied subjects. Her last major trip to Asia and Africa allowed her to meet personalities from many different backgrounds and particularly people from South Africa and the Hamer, Karo, Mursi and Arbore tribes in Ethiopia – tribes that she made an impressive series of portraits of. Cintia Barroso Alexander’s works have been published in well-known magazines such as Schön Magazine or Vogue Italy and were brought together as a book in 2013.
