The arms of ETTRICK of co. Durham quartering probably HOPWOOD and LANGLEY
Inverted pear form chased and embossed with c-scroll and floral motifs on a matted ground, the domed side-hinged cover applied with fruiting leaf finial, the spout modelled as a phoenix head, the body with a scroll cartouche to each side, one engraved with an armorial engraved shield, with wicker-encased carrying handle flanked by double-scroll junctions terminating in female heads, the separate stand with central burner below circular receiver and pierced apron of floral swags, raised on three leaf-capped scrolling shell feet.
