US$2,223.00 An early George III articulated silver dish cross, London 1766. The raised central bulbous spirit burner is topped with a lid decorated with a gadroon border. Rotating cross-section arms and adjustable cast shell decorated dish holders and feet.Hallmarked for London 1766 by Herbert & Co. The body, feet and arms are all identically hallmarked.Overall in very good condition, with no splits dents or repairs. Of a thick gauge of silver with a lovely lustre.Mechanical dish crosses of this age are quite scarce as few have survived the usage over the years.
