Wonderful sundial in Asiago Biancone marble, with two Belgian Black marble medallions inlaid on the sides. They depict the sun and the moon, entirely carved and worked by hand. From the summer solstice (21st of June), this sundial was kept south-facing. The gnomon was replaced, because the original one was greatly damaged by the weather. This item comes from Italy, precisely from the town of Venice, and was part of the garden of a local villa. This lot is one of a kind, especially if you consider its full integrity and the beauty of the marble. A richly decorated central rosette completes the item giving elegance and refinement. Item of extraordinary quality, excellent workmanship and value. It can be easily hung on the wall, also indoors, like a beautiful picture, considering the patina and the Biancone marble veins.
