The attention to detail here is remarkable and this statue has a golden bronze patina on his body and a contrasting black patina on his loin cloth. The base is inscribed: "Post Pugnam" which is short for 'post pugnam victores hostium exuvias iovi dabunt' (After the war the victor gives the spoils to Jupiter).
