STYLE OF THOMAS CHIPPENDALE (1718-1779)
A quite exceptional set of twelve ( ten side plus two arms ) mahogany framed Dining Chairs of classical Chippendale design, the backs finely and elaborately carved with scrolls and foliage, the cabriole supports with anthemion carving to the knees terminating in unusually high claw and ball feet.Wonderful.

These chairs epitomise the finest achievements of chair makers of the period, the timber being particularly well chosen and the quality of the carving quite outstanding.
