Beautiful work in Istrian marble, worked and carved by hand, depicting Saint Sebastian transfixed with arrows. The work dates back to the late 19th century and comes from a private collection in Bologna, Emilia Romagna, Italy. He was bound naked to a stake on the Palatine Hill and transfixed by so many arrows that he looked like an urchin. The attention to details is considerable (anatomy, hair, clothes, face, etc.). The wounds are clearly visible. Nice and elegant marble veins, as well as the patina. Suitable to be hung to the wall, because it still has the original hook on the back.Lot of important workmanship and high value, one of a kind.
