A rare and large turn of the century (ca. 1900) bronze figure titled 'Eve with the Apple'. It depicts a resolute and determined Eve hiding the apple behind her. The statue is signed on the base 'Seffner'. The famous German artist Carl Ludwig Seffner (1861-1932) was renowned for his portraiture, mostly for his statue of Johann Sebastian Bach in Leipzig. Many of his artworks adorn public places in his native country Germany. Measures approx an impressive 56 cm in height. Placed on an integrated bronze plinth base. Approximate weight is about 7,1 kg. The statue is in very good condition with a very pleasant medium brown patina. It will be packed securely for international shipment.
