Chinese carpet from the beginning of the 20th century whose design is inspired by Chinese iconography, where you can see a “phoenix” (imaginary animal) opposite a “dragon”, referring to the ancient Chinese philosophy of Yin (black) and Yang (white). The Yin and the Yang are opposites: everything has its opposite, not an absolute one, but in comparative terms. The phoenix, is the carrier of all feminine values which are opposed to those of the male dragon.

The Chinese carpets are characterized, besides their refined decor, by their soft wool and their bright colors, similar to those of porcelain.
