This is a beautiful ornately decorated life size bronze sculpture of a heavily armored Roman Cavalry officer on horseback, riding triumphantly into battle. The armour is decorated in high relief with symbols of angelic maidens, phoenixes, goblins, wolfs, winged horses and eagles. The warrior has a cavalry parade helmet with eagle and feathered crest. This high quality hot cast solid bronze was produced using the traditional "lost wax" process, otherwise known as the "cire perdue" method.
