Beautiful and elegant mezzo-tondo in Liberty style, made of Vicenza stone, entirely carved and worked by hand. It comes from a Liberty villa in Vicenza and was part of a pair. It was accompanied by a representation of the face of Daphne.This artwork represents the face of the God Apollo. Mezzo-tondo of fine quality and excellent workmanship, especially the eyes, the mouth, the nostrils, the eyebrows and the hair, that were made with absolute and extreme precision by an artist and expert of that period.The item has always been kept inside the house and handed down from generation to generation. It has not undergone any modification over time. The workmanship and the quality of this sculpture are undeniable. The thickness of the relief is considerable. It protrudes a lot from the base. The weight of the item is not excessive, so it can be easily hung on the wall.It is part of a pair (not included in this auction but still available).
