An exceptionally well carved large alabaster sculpture of Saint Anthony of Padua carrying the infant Jesus. The saint is holding his traditional lily flower with his left hand.There are ancient visible marks of polychromy and gilding, particularly on the robe of the saint, where many gilt flowers are visible, as well as in the hair of both characters. They are raised on an alabaster pedestal composed of baroque decorative elements (a large shell surrounded by spiralled scrolls).Note: Visible small holes in the head and at the back of the saint due to the missing aureole.
