Gold-plated bronze Cartel clock - France - Le Paute / Le Roy - 1870Mechanical - 8-day timepiece - striking mechanism on the full and half hours with bell Beautiful gold-plated bronze Cartel clock from France, around 1870, good condition, movement with pendulum, runs and strikes well.Gold-plated bronze case with beautiful casting, olive branch edges, curls, wreaths and decorations, on top a victor's cup, on the bottom olive branches and leaves.Large bronze front door with cut glass, a beautiful white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals and engraved open hands behind it.On the signature on the dial "Paris" is legible, the name has faded, could have been: "Le Paute" or "Leroy". Underneath the front door there is a glass window where the pendulum can be seen, sound windows on both sides with fabric lining. The pendulum lens has a Louis XIV-head.Mechanical movement with train and striking mechanism on full and half hours on a bell. Includes pendulum and winding key, bail at the back.Stunning Cartel clock, gold-plating in very good condition.
