Wonderful marble capital worked by hand, from Sicily, 18th century. It is in very good condition, except for one corner that has a missing piece. Soft and elegant design, not too heavy like many others. Beautiful proportions which allow to place the item also indoors as a shelf or a stand for a statue, for example. Very nice patina. It was surely mounted outdoors, in fact it has an opening in the upper part and a hole (as shown in the photos) from which the water passed. A very nice piece of haute epoque.
