Wonderful baptismal font in Lumachella marble, from Venice, Italy, end of 1800. The item comes from an ancient baptistery annexed to a church near Venice. It is composed of two separate units: the basin and the pedestal. On the top there is the basin which can rotate around the pedestal thanks to a pin on the top of it. The basin is well positioned and stable and can also rotate around the pin. Please note the two carved ram heads, skilfully made, like the twisted pedestal.The Lumachella marble is a precious and high quality marble that gives the font elegance and refinement. One of a kind, of excellent workmanship. It can be placed indoors or outdoors.The lot is in perfect condition and intact in all its parts. In case of shipping, the lot will be sent in wooden crates specially made to ensure the integrity of the item.
