This is a gorgeous antique Italian casket, from Sorrento, famous for it's use of olive wood and inlaid decoration, circa 1920 in date. It is beautifully inlaid with a man and a boy, dressed in typical costume, who are eating, with a flask of wine on the side. It has boxwood and ebony crossbanding and the word Sorrento is inlaid into the underside of the lid. The casket is complete with an original key. It is a lovely decorative and useful item which can be placed nearly everywhere. Condition: Very good - please refer to pictures.
