**Our Stock # LFA-1478**
This is an antique fire screen dating to the early 19th century.
- Beautifully crafted in giltwood and gesso the screen frame is raised on elaborate scrolled feet with different masks looking out to either end; presumably the artist created them in the form of the original client's faces, who may well have the initials 'R.B.' as depicted in the heraldic shield surmounting the crest rail.
- The glazed aperture is ready to accommodate a tapestry panel or similar and is mounted within sinuous scrolls and foliate detail.
- Large and impressive this screen has excellent proportion and if the highest quality.
- Rare to find and in remarkably good antique condition, delivered ready for the home.
