DESCRIPTION
Antique 19th Century Victorian impressively large and magnificent centerpiece, the shaped base on three scroll feet, engraved 'Won by the cutter yacht secret 30 tons Henry J Waring Esquire, owner Sept 2nd 1856' and port of Plymouth regatta presented by the royal western yacht club of England 1856' engraved with the Waring family crest (Waringstown, co. Down, Ireland). The central stand applied with three maidens holding a cross and goblet, anchor and children, representing the three virtues, faith, charity and fortitude, centered by a realistically modelled oak tree mounted with a glass bowl. Hallmarked English silver (925 standard), London, year 1856 (a), Maker EBJB (Edward & John Barnard)
