DESCRIPTION

Antique 19th Century German solid silver-gilt procession figure, holding a spear and in the other hand the reins, impressively large and very naturalistically modelled, horse and rider clad in armor with a horse visor. The horseman dressed in lavish 16th century costume, the horses armour set with turquoise and garnets, the riders body set with turquoise, garnets, shoulders and head set with old cut diamonds, rubys, emeralds and sapphire, the ebonized wooden base mounted with pierced floral decoration. Hallmarked German Hanau silver (800+ standard), pseudo-marks JCJF (maker unknown)
