DESCRIPTION

Antique 19th Century German solid silver mounted hand etched glass novelty decanter, modelled as a realistically modeled crowing rooster, with the silver head cast with a hinged lid, the shaped glass body intricately etched to simulate feathers, twin glass handles, the base applied with cast silver feet.

Hallmarked German Hanau silver (800+ standard), Maker's mark J.D Schleissner & Sohne, Imported by Buchholz & Zelt, New York.
