Antique 19th Century German 14k gold snuff box, of ovoid cartouche form, the cover applied with central enamelled oval plaque of an 18th century French nobleman on a matted ground, surrounded lid decorated with applied flowers in four colours of gold amongst blue enamelled scrolls, the bombé sides and base chased and engraved with flowers amongst scrolls. Hallmarked 14 (585 gold standard), Makers mark for Carl Marton Weisshaupt & Sohne, Hanau, circa 1860, incuse stamped '2368'
