### **A large Imari porcelain charger decorated with ladies**


**Circa early 18th century, Japan**

**Diameter: 57.5 cm, 22.6 inches**

Painted in the centre with ladies dressed in kimonos on a terrace amongst screens and flowering peonies, the flaring rim decorated with the same subject matter including flower carts. The reverse revealing spur marks to the base in the typical sign of Japanese manufacture, the rim freely painted with stems of chrysanthemum flowers, peony, and plum.
